Training Bodies
Staff are trained through a number of construction industry training bodies
including: CITB, CPCS, FAS, NEBOSH and IOSH. These official training bodies help the company stay
in line with current health and safety standards on an ongoing basis as well as keep us up to date with best practices in training
and professional development of personnel.
A high level of training is particularly important in the construction industry because of
the high level or health and safety risks associated with this type of work. 100% of our site
based staff hold current CSCS (Construction Skills Certified Scheme) cards, which are
increasingly being demanded as proof of competence by major industry organisations,
employers, clients and government bodies.
CITB
CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) provides training for those intending to be
employed in the UK construction industry. It allows employers to seek the different training
programmes available and help them decide which course is best suited for their needs for
the coming year.
(CPCS) The Construction Plant Competence Scheme
CPCS is the largest and most recognised card scheme in the UK plant industry. It ensures the
skill level of plant operators and highlights their health and safety awareness. CPCS provides a
single skills card for the construction industry plant sector.
More and more clients and employers require proof from plant operators that they are trained
and competent. The CPCS card proves that they have the skills, training and practical
experience to do their job. It's like a 'licence to operate'. CPCS card holders demonstrate
their health and safety awareness by having passed the Construction Skills Health and Safety
Test.
FÁS (Foras Aisenanna Saothair)
In Ireland, we train our site staff through FÁS, Ireland's National training and employment
authority. FÁS aims to enhance the skills and competencies of individuals and of enterprises
in order for Ireland to further develop as a competitive, inclusive, knowledge based
economy.
IPAF International Powered Access Federation
IPAF was formed in 1983 as a not-for-profit members’ organisation that promotes the safe and
effective use of powered access worldwide. It has played a key role in promoting many of the
design, safety and testing procedures that are now established in the powered access
industry.
The IPAF training programme for platform operators is certified by TÜV Product Service as
conforming to ISO 18878. TUV is an internationaly recognised expert in providing testing,
certification, qualification, training and consultancy services to a range of different
